About TwistedAngel TwistedAngel’s name real is Krystin Baker. She currently lives in San Diego, CA. She has many hobbies - including sewing, painting, drawing, jewelry making, and music. Among other interests, she is also an automotive enthusiast. This is where the name ‘TwistedAngel’ is derived from. ‘TwistedAngel’ has always been her ‘crew callname’ on all of her project cars. The name has stuck over the years, with some just reducing it to ‘TA’ or ‘Twisted’. Krystin has been sewing for over 20 years, and was originally introduced to the craft by her grandmother at a very young age. Her grandmother was quite knowledgeable and experienced in the arts, and encouraged her creative growth by eliminating the concept of limitation. She adores collecting and sewing vintage designs (of which she has a pattern collection numbering in the thousands) and would prefer a more challenging project to a quick project. She particularly likes tailoring, couture methods, pattern drafting and costuming. Key influences in Krystin’s artistic repretoire include a strong influence in the Native American arts, which were introduced to her also at a young age as a family effort to preserve cultural traditions. |

In Loving Memory of Patsy J. Petersen This site is here to honor my grandmother, whose machine was my first sewing machine (that’s me in the photo). I feel her presence as I work, and I know she would be proud of the efforts I undertake to keep traditions alive. Sewing was her passion, and I know her legacy lives on through me. My father says it’s like seeing her in me when I go on and on about this art… This website is to honor the sewing tradition that we are slowly losing. I will be contributing as much of my knowledge as I can in the months and years�to come, so please check back frequently. |
